Emmerdale star Will Ash has revealed that one of the twists involving Caleb Miligan even shocked him.
Caleb has had a hectic time since his arrival in the village, pursuing relationships with both Leyla Harding and Tracy Robinson.
These relationships came after he had said his marriage was over, but the arrival of Ruby in the village threw a spanner in the works as she revealed that they were still very much together.

In an interview with Digital Spy and other press, Ash reflected on the developments of his character, revealing that his complicated romantic life led to many surprises along the way.
“I genuinely thought that that relationship was dead in the water,” he revealed. “When he got with Leyla, I had to play the truth of that relationship that he was invested with Leyla. It wasn’t really written that he had Ruby on the go, for want of a better phrase, at the same time
“But I’m really pleased [with] how it’s turned out. When Caleb was having an affair with Tracy and viewers saw that Caleb and Ruby were still in a physical relationship, that was as much a shock to me as it was to them, but I quickly bought into it and that compulsion to be together.”

Ash, who joined the ITV soap in 2022, also spoke about the factors that keep Caleb being drawn into Ruby, explaining: “As it’s gone on he realises how much she’s given up for him and there’s a little bit more empathy there.
“She chose him when he was a kid [when] he had absolutely nobody. When everyone’s pushing him away, no matter how badly she can react to some things, he’s still got that ticking away that when nobody gave a shit about him she was the one person who always did.”
