Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale will be losing two characters in upcoming episodes, as one young couple will be making their departure from the village.

Nicky Miligan and Suni Sharma – played by Lewis Cope and Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana, respectively – will soon be exiting the ITV soap.

The Sun has reported that their final scenes have already been filmed, and Digital Spy understands that these scenes are expected to air within the next few weeks.

The seeds for the exit will be planted as early as next week. Nicky will suggest to Suni that it might be best for them to move away, following all the drama with his parents.

Nicky has clashed with dad Caleb over not being taken seriously enough (plus the time Caleb tried to force him into a sham marriage to steal Kim Tate’s wealth).

He has also struggled with the secret that his mum Ruby deliberately knocked over Ethan Anderson in a revenge hit-and-run.

Although next week’s scenes will see Suni deliberate over the suggestion, as he’s only recently reconnected with his family, it looks like he will agree to Nicky’s plan.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale is set to embark on a new era as a new producer has been appointed, with Sophie Roper stepping up and working alongside Laura Shaw after serving as story producer since 2016.

Having previously been involved in crafting some of the soap’s biggest plotlines over the last few years, Roper promises to keep making “bold and ground-breaking drama” going forward.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
