Exact CEO Shoaib Ahmed Sheikh’s acquittal order issued

The Sindh High Court has issued a written order acquitting the Exact CEO and Chairman Bol News Shoaib Ahmed Sheikh.

According to the details, the Sindh High Court issued a written order saying that Section 265-K of the Criminal Code empowers the court to acquit the accused at any stage. After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court reached the point that there is no possibility of the accused being convicted of any crime.

In the written order, it was said that the subordinate court rejected the plea of acquittal of the accused. The subordinate court rejected the petition disagreeing with the arguments of the lawyers of the accused. The Subordinate Court raised the point that the statements of only 5 witnesses are yet to be recorded.

In a written order, the High Court said that the case against the accused was registered on June 26, 2015. According to the FIA inquiry, the accused are involved in the production and sale of fake degrees. During the trial of the case, the prosecution listed 91 witnesses.

The Sindh High Court in the order further said that the prosecution withdrew the names of 64 witnesses. Statements of 22 witnesses have been recorded. 5 witnesses remained. According to the orders of the Supreme Court, if there is even a slight possibility of conviction in the case, instead of deciding on the plea of acquittal, the statement of the witnesses should be recorded and the decision should be taken on merit.
