The Met Office has issued a ‘heavy rain’ weather warning for Birmingham and the wider West Midlands this week- and warned there could be ‘danger to life’. A yellow weather warning will be in place between 12.15am on Wednesday, May 22, and 6am on Thursday, May 23.

Some communities could be cut off by flooded roads, said Met Office. Flooding could also lead to difficult driving conditions and public transport delays.

Motorists should expect some road closures. Homes and business will also be at risk of flooding and, at worst, there may be danger to life.
