Police have fired a warning after an electric motorbike was seen being used recklessly near schoolchildren as they played outside. Greater Manchester Police says the primary school-aged kids were playing in a Salford park when the bike posed a ‘danger’ to them and others.

According to GMP, a black electric motorbike was used dangerously yesterday (June 11) on Liverpool Road and Lords Street, in Cadishead. Having caused a ‘danger to road users’, the rider then used the motorbike on Lords Street Park, GMP says.

The incident is being investigated by police as a dangerous driving offence. Officers have shared an image of two people they wish to speak to in connection with the incident and have warned road users they ‘will not tolerate’ similar offences on the region’s roads.

A spokesperson for GMP Eccles, Cadishead, Barton and Irlam said: “We are currently following lines of enquiry, but should you have additional information in the meantime which may assist, please do get in touch. Please quote crime reference CRI/06FF/0015324/24 whilst contacting us via 101, GMP Website, emailing salfordsouthwest@gmp.police.uk or contacting Crimestoppers anonymously [on 0800 555 111].

“Children should be able to enjoy our parks without fear of being hit by criminals riding a motorbike. We will not tolerate this behaviour and will utilise our powers to target those responsible.”
