Rylan Clark has admitted his ‘love’ for one of his former Strictly Come Dancing co-stars after they were reunited for a fun night out this week. The TV and radio presenter was seen alongside dancer Amy Dowden as they both attended a Girls Aloud show.
After wrapping up their mammoth UK tour, which they dedicated to their late friend and bandmate Sarah Harding after she died in 2021 at the age of 39 following a breast cancer diagnosis, Cheryl, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts held an intimate gig with just hundreds headed to O2 Shephard’s Bush Empire.
They played some of their biggest hits during the exclusive intimate gig with some fans snapping selfies with Rylan as they left the venue. Also grabbing a selfie with the BBC Radio 2 host was Amy.

Taking to Instagram, Amy shared the photo of the pair to her Stories and said: “Loved spending time with this one last night! Such a gorgeous human inside [and] out.” Rylan then shared the photo on his own Instagram Story as he said in view of his millions of followers: “You beauty. Love u xxx.”
It comes after Rylan made it clear that he won’t be taking to the dance floor on Strictly as a contestant. The 35-year-old previously hosted the dance show’s spin-off show It Takes Two. He co-presented the show from 2019 until 2023, first alongside Zoe Ball and later Janette Manrara.
But he believes it wouldn’t be right for him to compete in the much-loved programme after having been a host. Speaking to the Daily Star’s Hot TV column, Rylan said: “I get asked to do ‘Strictly’ all the time, but the answer is no. I wouldn’t do it.”
He further explained his stance by stating: “It wouldn’t be fair for me to go back and compete. It would be the same as if I went back into ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. It wouldn’t be fair.” Rylan added: “I was a host, so it would be weird if I became a contestant. I’d rather just have a little dance at home than do it on the show.”
