There are some coins so rare and desirable that they ‘could make you a 100 per cent rich’. The collectables produced by Royal Mint could be lurking in your spare change.

The Kew Gardens 50p is one of the hardest to find, as there are just 210,000 in circulation. There are several others that it’s worth keeping an eye out for, according to TikToker @coincollectingwizard.

A video, which has racked up more than 97,000, shared which coins could be worth a fortune, the Mirror reports. People flooded the comments to reveal they’d had “so many” of the featured coins without realising the value.

1p from 1933 – £130,000

This coin could make you “100 per cent rich” according to the TikTok page. The rarity of this 1933 UK penny makes it highly sought after and it could easily sell for more than £100,000.

New pence 2p from 1983 – £1,500

This is considered to be a rare coin due to a specific transition in the design. It was in the 80s when the Royal Mint began the process of changing the inscription from “new pence” to “two pence”.

Aquatics 50p swimming lines 1st edition – £2,000

An aquatic 50p with lines over the face, it could allegedly be worth a fortune. The TikTok video said: “A small handful of this original design was put into circulation but it was then adapted very quickly to show the face above the water with so few of the original design out there. It’s meant the coin’s value has been pushed up significantly.”

Kew Gardens 50p from 2009 in gold – £6,000

According to the user, a gold proof of the coin recently sold for £6,800 at the Royal Mint’s online auction. The ultra rare version was estimated between £5,000 and £6,000 with a starting bid for the coin around the £4,000 region.
