Tyson Fury has made his first public comments since his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, encouraging Frank Warren and his boxers to “smash Eddie Hearn and Matchroom”.

Following the recent loss of his titles to Usyk, who emerged as the first unified heavyweight champion after a points win, Fury has now been reflecting upon the first defeat of his professional career.

Two weeks from this loss, Fury has returned to social networks offering support to his promoter and team as they ready themselves for an unusual 5 v 5 card, which will pit five of Warren’s fighters against Hearn’s – Deontay Wilder heads up the show.

Fury reached out on social media to say: ” Tyson Fury here, very important message, it is that important I’ve done it from my bedroom. Frank, Queensbury, all the boys on our team – do the business. Smash Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. Get up there, come on Queensbury and Frank Warren. All the best to all the fighters, good luck.”

In Saturday night’s event in Riyadh, the two high-profile promoters will match up fighters from their own rosters in head-to-head bouts. For the main event, Hearn has recruited Wilder, who has thrice been unsuccessful in beating Fury and lost to Joseph Parker last December, and he will go to the ring with fellow power-puncher Zhilei Zhang, reports the Mirror.

Queensberry’s Daniel Dubois is set to go head-to-head with heavyweight Filip Hrgovic in a world-title final eliminator, while Liverpool featherweight Nick Ball will take on WBA world champion Raymond Ford.

The 5 v 5 event will also feature a middleweight contest between Hamzah Sheeraz and Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams, as well as a light-heavyweight bout between Willy Hutchinson and Craig Richards.
