Coronation Street fans think they’ve worked out a potential paternity twist after figuring out who ‘knows something’ about Lauren Bolton’s disappearance. It’s almost two months since the teenager suddenly went missing from the cobbles.
Lauren, played by Cait Fitton, had been acting shifty for a few weeks, claiming she had a mystery boyfriend who was showering her with necklaces and flowers. However, after being sacked from her job at the cafe by Roy Cropper, the character was visited at home by a mystery person before being nowhere to be found.
It was her new friend and love interest Bobby who discovered she’d gone but wasn’t taken too seriously when he filed a missing persons report. However, things soon changed when blood was found in the flat she had occupied and with DS Lisa Swain involved, she set about finding the culprit behind Lauren’s disappearance.

And it was Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson, who quickly became DS Swain’s prime suspect after he emerged as the last person to see her alive before he misguidedly deep-cleaned Lauren’s flat in a bid to help his friend Evelyn Plummer who was sub-letting the precinct flat.
Roy has since found himself charged with Lauren’s murder and was earlier this week denied bail. During Wednesday night’s (April 17) Corrie, viewers of the ITV soap saw Roy in his cell, refusing to eat and also refusing to see his visitors with his niece Nina Lucas heartbroken to hear he knew she was there at the prison but didn’t come out to see her.
Meanwhile, Bobby’s lie about seeing a man in Lauren’s flat who wasn’t Roy when he found her to be missing continued. He faced more questioning from DS Swain and his comments about a black puffer jacket led to Danie Osbourne once again being questioned at the station after he recently unloaded some of his belongings to the charity shop.
But a recent behind-the-scenes video shared showing Joel Deering actor Calum Lill taking fans behind the scenes of the recent court scenes has left fans once again suspecting the new solicitor as having something to with Lauren’s disappearance as his brief exit came around the same time.
In it, Calum could be seen heading out on location to Bolton where they filmed Roy’s recent court appearance and was joined by Dee-Dee Bailey and Carla Connor actresses Channique Sterling-Brown and Alison King. He later headed back to the Salford-based Corrie set where he did some prep on scripts with Channique.
But in the comments section of the post on Corrie’s Instagram, fans shared the suspicions of Joel. Onel said: “He knows something about Laurens disappearance.” Another commented: “He’s up to no good, isn’t he?” A third wrote: “What did you do with Lauren mister.” Another added: “I’m convinced he’s behind Lauren’s disappearance. She has the same necklace as Dee Dee …..hmmm bit of a coincidence.”
Meanwhile, Corrie viewers also think a twist could be on the cards after it was rumoured Bethany Platt’s former groomer Nathan Curtis was headed back to Weatherfield. One asked: “Is joel Nathan’s brother? #corrie.” Another added: “And Joel is Nathan’s brother.”
