Update: Sindh Police arrested one killer of Major Saad and killed the second killer, as per the press release issued by the Sindh Police on April 9, 2024.

As we celebrate the joyous occasion of Eid, a somber reality weighs on the hearts of Karachiites. The tragic passing of Major Saad of the Pakistan Army, shot during a robbery, serves as a chilling reminder of the unchecked street crime plaguing our city. He was shot by the robbers 9 days ago in Shershah area of Karachi. He was admitted in CMH Malir but on April 9, 2024, he lost his life.

Major Saad, a brave soldier who dedicated his life to serving his country, leaves behind two young children, now tragically orphaned. His sacrifice highlights not only the dangers faced by those who protect us but also the devastating toll violence takes on families and communities.

Sadly, Major Saad’s death is not an isolated incident. Karachi’s streets bear witness to countless acts of senseless violence, leaving families shattered and instilling a pervasive sense of fear. We extend our sincerest condolences to all those who have lost loved ones to the scourge of street crime. Their pain is a shared burden, and their loss must not be forgotten.

May Allah grant strength and solace to the families of Major Saad and to all those families grieving the loss of loved ones at the hands of criminals.

While we commend the Sindh Police for their swift action in apprehending Major Saad’s killer, true justice lies in preventing such crimes from occurring in the first place. This Eid, as we express gratitude for our blessings, let us resolve to work towards a safer Karachi. Let us demand accountability, support law enforcement initiatives, and foster a culture of respect for human life.

May this Eid be a moment of reflection, a catalyst for change, and a tribute to the memory of Major Saad and all those whose lives have been cut short by violence. šŸ¤²šŸ•Š
