EastEnders' Bernie Taylor makes exit decision after Keanu death

EastEnders’ Bernie Taylor is set to exit Albert Square following the discovery of brother Keanu’s body.

Viewers will know that Keanu was killed over Christmas in the culmination of The Six death mystery storyline, with the six women covering their tracks ever since.

However, the walls have begun to close in this week after the discovery of Keanu’s body under the café floor, with Sharon arrested in the aftermath.

In new scenes set to air next week, Bernie will depart from Walford to pay a visit to mother Karen in Spain and inform her about Keanu’s death.

The scenes come after Sharon is taken in by police, with Johnny Carter offering to represent her with an aim to protect his mum Linda from facing similar consequences.

While she sticks to her story with the police, new evidence then comes to light that could mean trouble for Sharon.

Johnny and the other women later gather to prepare for their re-questioning by police. Kathy and Suki come up with a new plan when Johnny returns home without Sharon.

Sharon’s arrest also sends shockwaves throughout Albert Square, while residents support Bernie as she grieves.

Meanwhile, Phil draws suspicion from Felix after defending Sharon, before his ex-wife Kat intervenes, and she gives him pause. However, Phil makes an offer to Denise when he overhears a conversation between her and Stacey.

Linda also spirals when Johnny reveals the other women’s plan for the murder weapon, turning to drink, and she makes a big decision about her future after George finds her in the barrel store.

She later gathers the remaining Six to reveal her plan and prepares to tell the police another fabricated story – though it seems her plan could backfire as the police ask why she has withheld key information.

EastEnders airs on Mondays – Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
