Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Rhona Goskirk will receive an unexpected offer from ex-husband Gus Malcolm in Emmerdale.

This week’s tense episodes have seen Rhona acquitted of kidnapping baby Ivy, after a majority of jurors in her trial found that she wasn’t to blame in light of Gus’s many lies.

Gus must now face trial next for embryo fraud, as he’d used Rhona’s remaining frozen eggs without permission to impregnate late wife Lucy.

Rhona has already warned Gus that she plans to fight for custody of Ivy, leading to some emotional scenes next week.

The new week begins with Rhona more determined than ever to get custody of Ivy now that she’s put her legal case behind her once and for all.

Her barrister Ethan Anderson tries to keep Rhona realistic about the custody case, explaining it could take years before the court decides Ivy’s future.

Rhona is surprised to hear that Gus is willing to plead guilty and help her get custody, though she rejects his offer because she can’t trust her ex-husband.

Her decision infuriates husband Marlon Dingle, as he sees this as Rhona passing up her one chance to bring her family together.

With Marlon’s words on her mind, Rhona reluctantly agrees to hear Gus out even if she doesn’t believe his motives are pure.

Gus tells Rhona that she’ll need to help him as well with a witness statement that can hopefully mitigate his prison sentence.

Rhona surprisingly finds herself considering the offer once she sees how much of a toll the trial has already taken on Gus.

As she weighs up this very important decision, viewers know that Emmerdale producers have confirmed a special episode that will focus on Rhona and Marlon as well as Tom and Belle King.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
