Gogglebox stars Stephen and Daniel Lustig-Webb have broken their silence after announcing their divorce following six years of marriage.
Stephen, 52, told The Sun on Sunday at the weekend that despite their split, he and Daniel, 43, still wanted to stay friends as they are also business partners in their joint hairdressing venture.
He told the publication: “It’s with much sadness Daniel and I have decided to divorce. There is, and always will be, a lot of love there but we’ve unfortunately grown apart and made the decision to part ways.”
The former couple have broken their silence online by poking fun at their impending divorce with a hilarious caption on an Instagram reel, the Express reports.
Daniel took to his page to share footage of him and Stephen larking around on bikes with his 123k followers as they posed next to Brighton Pier and along the beach.
Attempting to maintain their friendship, the Channel 4 star captioned the light hearted post: “Riding tandem straight out of this marriage #beryl #bff.”
The Gogglebox star’s fans flocked to the comments section to wish the two well as they also expressed their sadness about their separation.
One person commented: “So sad to read this… love you two… but wishing you both the happiness you deserve for the future xxx.”
Another loyal follower wrote: “Sorry to hear you are getting divorced. Best wishes to you both for the future. Hope you can remain friends.”
Somebody else replied: “I thought it was fake news, wishing you the best. Love you guys,” while a fourth added: “So sad to hear. But wishing you both love, happiness and the very best of luck in your next chapter xx.”
Stephen shot to fame on the first series of Gogglebox back in 2013 as he filmed alongside his pal Christopher Steed.
The best friends became an instant hit with viewers and went on to film ten series’ of the much loved show.
After Christopher quit the show, Stephen was joined by his now late mother Patt Webb for two seasons.
Daniel then joined Stephen on the couch in 2018 and the pair were a part of the series for eight seasons together before they both decided to leave the Channel 4 show in 2023.
Stephen was set to star on the latest series of Dancing on Ice but had to sadly pull out after breaking his ankle.
He was replaced by Eddie The Eagle who proved to be a real hit with viewers thanks to his nifty moves on the ice.
