MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace has been on an impressive weight loss journey, shedding five stone in recent years. The 59 year old TV presenter was spurred into action after a stark warning from his doctor in 2017 that he risked a heart attack if he didn’t lose weight.

Speaking on social media, Gregg announced he had lost five stone and added an inspiring message to his fans. He said: “You know you can lose weight don’t you? You can. And it doesn’t have to be uncomfortable.

“You do’t have to be hungry. I lost five stone. I am not strong willed and I am not particularly clever. If I can do it, you can do it.”

At his heaviest, the 5ft 8in star tipped the scales at 16st 7lb, reports the Express. So, what’s the secret to his sustainable weight loss? According to Gregg, it’s not about dieting.

He explained: “Seriously for people I don’t believe in diets, I don’t believe in doing something you can’t sustain, I don’t believe in starving yourself three times a week. What I believe in is making positive steps in the right direction gradually, that way you move yourself into a healthy lifestyle.

“Listen to this carefully, you don’t have to be uncomfortable and hungry to lose weight.” After bagging his weight loss goals, Gregg Wallace attributed his success to frequent physical workouts, cooking meals at home and most importantly, saying no to three things – “fried food, sugar and booze”.

Speaking to The Sun previously, he stated: “I made a conscious decision to cut down on fried and high sugar foods, as well as booze – which helped me lose weight. When I was at my biggest I was having a daily fry up, fish and chips once per week, takeaway a couple more times and drinking beer nearly every day.

“At first, I felt like I was missing out. But my body got used to what I was giving it and yours will too.” Gregg also maintains his impressive physique with an intense workout routine that sees him hitting the gym five days a week.
