It’s Moving Day at Augusta National, and we’ve got a three-way tie at the top of the leaderboard.
Max Homa, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau entered play on Saturday at the Masters with a share of the lead at 6-under on the week. That gave them a two-shot lead over the rest of the field. DeChambeau, who moved a massive sign during his second round, bogeyed the 18th on Friday to drop into the group at the top.
Scheffler, however, wasted no time to start his round. He birdied the first to immediately take the solo lead again in the group ahead of DeChambeau and Homa.
Tiger Woods is a ways back, but he’s playing into the weekend. Woods made the cut for a record 24th straight time at the Masters on Friday, which broke a tie with Gary Player and Fred Couples. He’s at 1-over on the week. Woods’ round starting falling apart as he was making the turn, however, and he posted back-to-back double bogeys. He made the turn at 7-over on the day, which marked his worst front nine score of his Masters career.

With that huge three-stroke swing, here’s how things look now on the back nine at Augusta National:

Well that was a huge swing there at Augusta.
Nicolai Højgaard made three straight birdies to grab the lead at 7-under, and Scottie Scheffler just made a double at the 10th.
Three straight bogeys for Tiger Woods now, and he’s at 9-over on the day.
Collin Morikawa is just one back from the lead halfway through his round.
“While Tiger Woods commanded thousands of patrons, you could count up most of Mickelson’s traveling gallery and still have a hand free to carry a commemorative Masters cup of Domestic Beer.”
Phil Mickelson carded a 2-over 74 on Saturday, and now sits at 6-over on the week.

Important Bryson-carrying-the-sign update: I spent some time out near the instant-legend sign this afternoon and can report that several patrons touched the sign and suddenly could walk!
Bryson DeChambeau just pulled off a huge par save from the bunker at the 7th. He’s still at 5-under, which is two shots back of Scottie Scheffler at the top.
Hey, we’ve got another birdie from Tiger Woods. He rolls in a putt at the 13th to get back to 7-over on the week.
An eagle from the trees! What a shot from Shane Lowry here at the 14th. It’s the first eagle on that hole in eight years.
Scottie Scheffler just bogeyed the par-3 fourth after landing his tee shot in a bunker. His lead is back down to just a single stroke.

I believe the only person who can stop Scottie Scheffler at this point is Meredith Scheffler.

He’s two back now, after yet another Scheffler birdie.
Tiger Woods just barely missed a par putt at the ninth. He’ll make the turn at 7-over on the day. That’s his highest first nine score of his Masters career.
A 42 for Tiger on the front is his highest ever.. His previous worsts were a 40 in 1997 (he went on to win by 12) and a 40 in 2004 (when he tied for 22).
And a double bogey now for Woods after a rough run at the 7th. Missed the fairway and then landed in a greenside bunker.
He’s now 3-over on the day, and 4-over for his round.
Well, Tiger bogeyed again after sending a par save long at the 6th. It was almost identical to what he did at the par-3 4th.
He’s back to 2-over.
A closer look at Tiger Woods’ first birdie of the day. It’s just his seventh career birdie at the 5th hole at Augusta National.
If Tiger wants to have a chance on Sunday, he’ll likely need to post a 68 or better today.
If you’re thinking comebacks: five players have come from 6+ back entering the 3rd round to win #TheMasters in the last 50 years. Their 3rd round scoring average was 67.8.
And Tiger bounces right back! He sinks a 19-footer at the 5th for his first birdie of the day.
It was his first birdie at the 5th hole at Augusta National since 2013.
The 4th hole just got Tiger Woods again. He landed his tee shot just short of the green, and then left his par putt right of the hole.
That’s the third straight day Tiger’s made a bogey at the 4th. He’s at 2-over now.
Hideki Matsuyama and Rickie Fowler — the first group out on the course today — just finished their rounds. Both posted a 1-under 71.
Very solid rounds, but both are still well out of it.
Tiger had a good look at birdie on the par-5 second but burned the edge. He immediately hunched over after missing the 16-footer, knowing he’d missed an opportunity. He’s still at 1-over for the tournament.
Wind is starting to pick up a little bit here at Augusta. That and the lightning-fast greens — wind tends to dry them out — are keeping things in check. There are birdies to be had — Luke List is 4-under on his round through 14 — but the guess here is no one is going really low today.
Phil Mickelson … yeah, he just four-putted on the third. That led to a triple bogey. Other than that, he’s even par on his round. He’s at +7.

Rory McIlroy, not quite off and running, bogeys the first. At +5, he’s headed for his 35th straight major without a victory, a streak that dates back to the 2015 Masters.
If the early groups are an indication, there are some low scores to be had today. Six players are already under par this morning, including Luke List who is 3-under on his first two holes.
A beautiful day at Augusta
It’s a beautiful day in a Augusta. Temperatures are a bit brisk now, but will warm up throughout the day, with an expected high of 77. The big news is that the wind that tore through Augusta National on Friday has subsided.
Just eight players were under par Friday. Expect that number to be bigger today.
Per BetMGM, Scottie Scheffler remains the favorite at +140. The other co-leaders are Bryson DeChambeau (+450) and Max Homa (+500).
And if you’re wondering, Tiger Woods is at +10000.
