Tina Malone has been left “broken” and “so bereft” as she recalls the poignant last moments with her late husband Paul Chase, who passed away at the young age of 42.
The actress, famed for her role as Mimi Maguire in the hit Channel 4 series Shameless, had previously announced the devastating news of Paul’s death last month without disclosing the cause.
Recently, Tina took to social media, where she expressed being overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support since March 13.
In a heartfelt update, the star, also known for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother, opened up to her online followers about the intimate final hours she spent with Paul at their home.
Addressing her 23,300 followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, Tina recounted how Paul had lovingly prepared a meal for their daughter, Flame, just hours before he passed away.
“Four weeks ago at 4pm today my hubby made scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, sausages for Flame,” she shared.
Continuing, she revealed: “Kissed me and said see you later…. 10 hours later he was dead, I am broken, so bereft.”, reports the Mirror.
Her emotional post quickly received an outpouring of sympathy from her fans, with one commenting: “I am so sorry to read this. Ur post caught my eye and I now see he was in the military. A subject so close to my heart. I’m glad to have found u on social x stay strong.”
A second wrote: “The last thing you remember him doing was an act of love for your child together. That is something that you will treasure in time more than you can right now. I am sending so much love from Belfast (heart) to you and Flame.”
Another shared their condolences: “So sorry to hear this. You will always have that memory of him and never let go of that. It has been 6 years for me and still talk about him to people. Stay strong and keep the good memories alive. That is just my thoughts.”
In a sombre ceremony last week, 64-year-old Tina bid farewell to her husband in their native Liverpool. Clad in black, Tina presented a picture of solemnity as she led the procession of mourners from her home, with family, friends, and members of Paul’s regiment in attendance, many donning their regimental ties.
The crowd, dressed in dark attire, supported Tina as she laid her beloved spouse to rest, whom she had wed in 2010.
