Launched this year, the women’s Gold Cup saw the Yanks slump to a shock defeat versus Mexico in the group stage but rally to reach the final and slow down the 11th-ranked team by FIFA.

The No. 2 Yanks had 45% possession and were out-attempted 12-7 but put six of their shots on target. One of those was Emily Fox‘s long, lofted cross from the right that Horan rose to head home seconds after the clock read 45:00.
