Peter Andre has said ‘it’s only fair’ as he’s decided to step back from naming his newborn daughter after he and his wife Emily have struggled to come up with a name. The singer was overjoyed earlier this month to reveal the birth of his fifth child.
Peter, who married doctor Emily in 2015, shared the first pictures of his baby girl at “just minutes old” on social media on April 2. “We feel so overwhelmed right now. So happy to welcome our beautiful girl to the family,” the 51-year-old said on Instagram. “Mum and daughter are doing amazing. Born Tuesday, April 2 2024, 7lb 3oz and thankfully very healthy.”
He went on to say that the family’s new bundle of jay had been “spoilt with cuddles” from his seven-year-old son, Theo, and daughter, Amelia, 10, whom he shares with Emily, and 18-year-old son Junior and daughter Princess, 16 – whom he shares with his ex-wife, Katie Price.

At the time of his happy announcement, he described all four children as being “in love with their new little sister”. He said: “As parents, we couldn’t be happier. Only thing is … she has no name yet. Help.” Peter also thanked the “incredible” doctors, midwives and staff at the Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, Somerset, as well as thanking Emily’s parents “whom I adore”. He added: “I’m so happy. Just off to hold her.”
But almost two weeks on from her birth and the little one’s name is still proving to be a sticking point. Writing in his new exclusive colum with OK! Magazine, Peter said: “We’re all in a baby bubble just now and Emily and the baby are doing great. Everything feels perfect.”
He continued: “We’ve been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don’t seem to agree on them. So I think it’s only fair that Emily decides – I hope she picks a good one. It’s been great that the kids have been off school for the holidays so we can spend time together as a family. While we work a name out, we’re just trying to differentiate between day and night. The lack of sleep is real already!”
It comes after he took to social media with a new snap of himself and his daughter. In the snap posted to his Instagram Story, the doting dad could be seen lovingly cradling his daughter as he sat on the sofa. As he cradled his daughter in his arms, Peter kept things casual as he sported a black tracksuit and black cap.
Gushing over his daughter, the Mysterious Girl hitmaker simply wrote “pure love” alongside the snap. It comes after Peter also shared his frustrations when it comes to finding the perfect name for his little one with his fans as they quizzed him over the moniker on his Instagram page.
“STILL no name. It’s driving us nuts,” he wrote in response to one comment. With another Instagram user asking the same question, Peter replied: “Still no name. Literally struggling. She doesn’t look like any one the names we have thought of.”
