Sami was targeted by the government officials, sources told the EMEA Tribune. He was beaten by a few unknown people outside his office. Journalists of Pakistan have condemned this and showed solidarity with Sami. In July 2022 senior journalist Ayaz Amir was attacked by unknown people with the same pattern.
