Zohra Shah was an eight-year-old housemaid working in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi, Pakistan in a house. She mistakenly released two parrots from the cage, the house owner brutally tortured her then killed her. The homeowners (Husband and Wife) were filming the whole incident.
The family of Zohra sent her to Hasan Siddiqui and his wife Umm e Kulsoom for better education and life, Zohra came from Muzaffargarh a district in southern Punjab, Zohra was working with the family since four months ago as a domestic worker.
On Monday one of the employers confessed to the police that Umm e Kulsoom beat Zohra because she freed her two parrots. Zohra was critically serious she was receiving treatment at the city’s Begum Akhtar Rukhsana Memorial Hospital where she last breathed.

Zohra Shah’s killer Hasan Siddiqui is behind bars and he is sent on judicial remand along with his wife until 12 June 2020.

Police statement on Zohra Shah Death
‘We have arrested the couple and they have confessed to their crime,’ Rawalpindi police superintendent Zia Uddin told. Hasan Siddiqui brought Zohra to the hospital as he was leaving the hospital where he was arrested, and his wife was also arrested by the police.
According to police, “Mr. Siddiqui kicked the girl in her private parts and there were bruises on her entire body and she was bleeding.”
Pakistan’s Minister for Human Rights, Shireen Mazari, wrote on Twitter that her ministry was in touch with the police and we are following the case.
