Islamabad: FIA will not pursue a case against Shahbaz Sharif & Hamza Shahbaz in a money laundering case. The FIA has decided that they do not want to prosecute Shahbaz Sharif – Hamza Shahbaz, Maqsood Chaprasi, and associates for money laundering. The Federal Investigation Agency has withdrawn all cases of money laundering, in a written application by Special Prosecutor Sikandar Zulqarnain in Lahore high court the FIA told the court.
According to the petition, the investigating officer said that Shahbaz Sharif is the Prime Minister and Hamza Shahbaz is the Chief Minister. Special Judge Central Ejaz Hassan Awan, while issuing an order on the request of the Special Prosecutor, said that Special Prosecutor Zulqarnain had filed a petition of no interest in the trial and DG FIA had asked him not to appear against Shahbaz Sharif.
The Special Prosecutor said that Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz were barred from becoming the Prime Minister and Chief Minister. Authorities showed no interest in the trial against Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz. It may be recalled that at the last hearing, the FIA had barred Sikandar Zulqarnain from appearing.
Special Judge Central issued a written order on the FIA’s request to close the case. The netizens reacted on social media and said this is the biggest joke in the history of Pakistan.
