Usman Mirza sentenced to life imprisonment in sexual violence case

An Islamabad court has sentenced five convicts, including Usman Mirza the main culprit, to life in prison in an E-11 boy-girl sexual assault case.

In Islamabad, Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani delivered a safe verdict in the case. Five convicts, including the main mastermind Mirza, were sentenced to life imprisonment while two convicts were acquitted. Usman Mirza, Idris Qayyum Butt, Mohib Khan Bangash, Hafiz Ata-ur-Rehman, and Farhan Shaheen were sentenced to life imprisonment while accused Umar Bilal Marwat and Rehan Hussain were acquitted in the case. Speedy trial of Mirza case was completed in 5 and a half months. On 28th September 2021, 7 accused including the main accused were indicted. The case began on July 6, 2021, after the videos went viral on social media.

They have been sentenced to life imprisonment under section 354-A (assault, use of criminal force to a woman, and stripping her of her clothes). The court has also ordered them to pay 200,000 fine each.
